Owner Spotlight : Donna Maguire
Donna Maguire is a proud and successful sales representative at REMAX Hallmark Realty™ Group.
Donna grew up in Montreal and moved to Ottawa in 1984; a beautiful city she now calls home. She is married and has two grown daughters who live on the west coast.
Donna chose the real estate industry because she enjoys the fast paced environment, negotiating, and the satisfaction of helping her clients buy or sell their home. She’s always had an eye for design, which helps her clients see the potential in homes.
Donna is a natural leader who opened her first business at the age of nineteen. She considers herself to be a serial entrepreneur so a career in real estate is the perfect fit. An expression of her entrepreneurial spirit can be seen through the co-founding of Buy Herself, an educational and financial literacy program for women buying and selling houses on their own. Additionally, Donna created Houses and Co, a similar educational series for first time home buyers.
Donna understands that real estate is a time sensitive industry, so her priority is to be responsive and available to her clients. She puts her client’s needs first and works hard for the best outcome by making herself available seven days a week.
In addition to her first-class customer service, Donna has developed strong negotiation skills. She has the ability to see the bigger picture while still paying attention to detail. The responsibilities of a good realtor go far beyond looking at houses and filling out contracts. There are many investigative and protective practices when buying or selling real estate and Donna has the knowledge and experience to help her clients navigate the process.
When she’s not working, Donna enjoys networking and empowering other women, especially her two daughters. Currently, Donna is working with a friend who launched a clothing line of flexible fashion for women undergoing surgery that impedes arm movement. It was created originally for breast cancer but is ideal for any chest, arm, stomach, and heart surgery patient.
In her spare time, Donna also loves to read, write poetry, and travel when time permits.
Donna has strong ties to her community and consistently donates her time and financial resources to charitable projects. She regularly volunteers at a homeless shelter for youth, sponsored a refugee family as well as children overseas, and has participated in various breast cancer initiatives.
Donna’s strong values have helped her create the successful real estate business she has today. She believes in treating others as you would have them treat you, following through on promises, and learning from mistakes. Carrying these qualities in both her personal and professional career have helped develop lasting relationships with colleagues and clients.
